Enjoy the best of Castaway Island Fiji's surrounding ocean, and all of its activities
Paddle-boarding in Castaway’s lagoon area gives you a whole new perspective on the underwater world. It’s amazing how much more you see when you’re up a little higher above the water’s surface. Little fishes, corals and other South Pacific sea life fill the water with colour and delight. Paddle-boarding is also a great exercise for those who like to stay fit and enjoy a challenge. Paddle-boarding is free on Castaway.
The resort provides free snorkel gear for your entire stay! Just pick up your flippers and masks from the Activities team* and keep them outside your bure so you’re ready to dive into the ocean and snorkel away at any time.
The snorkelling just off the shore of the island offers loads of little fishes and jumping fish – great for kids learning to snorkel for the first time. Depending on demand the Kids Club staff offer snorkelling lessons in the pool as part of the weekly program. The lessons offer the perfect introduction to snorkelling with the final lesson being taken in the ocean just off the shore. This is exciting for those discovering the underwater world for the first time.
*refundable deposit added to your accommodation bill. This will be cleared once you return the snorkelling gear at the end of your stay. VINAKA!
Two designated pool areas to cater for everyone’s needs. Adults only “Malua” resort pool and “Nuku Marau” family resort pool area.
Castaway Island, Fiji offers two pool areas – one designated as a “quiet, adults-environment” pool area with Jacuzzi and swim up pool bar and the other a family pool perfect for children to splash, squeal and enjoy pool-games and fun. Considering the resort is a little island in the middle of the pacific-ocean, it’s quite an accomplishment to build and maintain two stunning pool areas which are quite possibly two of the best resort pools in Fiji. We think so anyway!
Of course, if you tire of poolside lounging you have the ‘natural’ pool at your doorstep – commonly known as the South Pacific Ocean.
Our pools are state of the art. Both offer areas for relaxation and poolside dining and one of them offers a pedi/mani spa service.

Surfboard size recommendation
If you’re bringing your own surfboard it is suggested larger boards are the way to go. 6’10? to 7? 6? is a good bet. It is a powerful reef surf, so small boards are a no-go unless you are very experienced. Bigger is usually better but not too big!
